This blog is intended to chronicle my experiences with Polymyositis, a chronic autoimmune disease that involves the body's own immune system attacking and inflaming its muscles, resulting in debilitating weakness and other complications. I hope to provide a resource for anybody looking to others' experiences with the disease.

Fever
I have experienced a fever like the one I had last week a few more times. I woke up with a fever Thursday and Friday this week and felt pretty bad through the morning. However, it goes away as the day goes on, and I feel fine by evening. I don't know what to make of it other than Prednisone withdrawal. Fun with steriods, I guess.

Hi Katie - hope you're feeling better. I've been off prednisone for a week now and its the best I've felt since I started taking the stuff last September. Good luck with the tapering!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I love self-diaganosing. :) It's so much more reassuring to blame things on Prednisone or Prednisone withdrawal than to wonder and worry over what else it might be. There are so many new and odd sensations in my body all of the time, I never really know when to worry and when to say, "oh, well." I'm pretty sure that it's withdrawal, though. Feels strange to be physically gripped by a drug... new respect for people trying to recover from addictions.
